When we talk about “MyMantl,” “we,” “our,” or “us” in this policy, we are referring to Chalk & Wire Learning Assessment Inc., the company which provides the Service. When we talk about the “Service” in this policy, we are referring to our digital badging, program design and portfolio platform. Our Service is currently available for use via a web browser.
Content and information submitted by individual users to the Service is referred to in this policy as “User Data.” As further explained below, User Data is controlled by the user who created it (the “User”). Where MyMantl collects or processes User Data, it does so on behalf of the User. Here are some (but not all) examples of User Data: account creation information such as name and password, profile information, uploaded work samples, skills goals, badges, and endorsements.
If you create a user account via registration or single-sign-on (SSO), you are a “user,” as further described in the User Terms of Service.
If you are using the Service by invitation of an Organization, whether that Organization is your employer, another institution, or an individual, that Organization determines its own policies regarding access, modification, deletion, sharing, and retention of Organization Data which may apply to your use of the Service. Please check with the Organization about the policies and settings it has in place. For example, evidence submitted as part of a program may remain visible to applicable members of the Organization even if a User has set the evidence to not be public.
Content and information submitted by users on behalf of a registered Organization to the Service is referred to in this policy as “Organization Data.” Organization Data is controlled by the organization’s members, who are themselves Users. Where MyMantl collects or processes Customer Data, it does so on behalf of the Organization. Here are some examples of Organization Data: badge submissions, assessments, OpenBadge assertions, Organization profile data, and program membership.

MyMantl uses both session-based and persistent cookies for authentication and application features.
Cookies are small text files sent by us to your computer and from your computer or mobile device to us each time you visit our website. They are unique to your account or your browser. Session-based cookies last only while your browser is open and are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last until you or your browser delete them or until they expire.
Some cookies are associated with your account and personal information in order to remember that you are logged in and which organizations you belong to. Other cookies are not tied to your account but are unique and allow us to carry out site analytics and customization, among other similar things. If you access the Service through your browser, you can manage your cookie settings there but if you disable some or all cookies you may not be able to use the Service.
MyMantl sets and accesses our own cookies on the domains operated by MyMantl and its corporate affiliates. In addition, we use third parties like Google Analytics for website analytics and Stripe for payment processing. You may opt-out of third party cookies from Google Analytics on its website.

MyMantl may access and use User Data or Organization Data as reasonably necessary and in accordance with User’s or Organization’s instructions to (a) provide, maintain and improve the Service; (b) to prevent or address service, security, technical issues or at a User’s request in connection with customer support matters; (c) as required by law or as permitted by the Data Request Policy and (d) as set forth in our agreement with the User or Organization, or as expressly permitted in writing by the User or Organization.

This policy is not intended to place any limits on what we do with data that is aggregated and/or de-identified so it is no longer associated with an identifiable user or Customer of the Service.
A User has many choices and control over User Data. For example, a User may enable or disable public access to content, curate work into public and private collections, create portfolio comments and participate in online conversations. These choices may result in the access, use, disclosure, modification or deletion of certain or all User Data.
An Organization has many choices and control over Organization Data. For example, an Organization may provision or deprovision access to the Organization by a member, enable or disable third party integrations, manage permissions, transfer or assign program members, and revoke badges. These choices may result in the access, use, disclosure, modification or deletion of certain or all Organization Data.

MyMantl takes security seriously. We take various steps to protect information you provide to us from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access or disclosure. These steps take into account the sensitivity of the information we collect, process and store, and the current state of technology.
Our Service is not directed to children under 13. If you learn that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us.
