Badge Description

The Leadership Frederick County (LFC) badge is awarded to those who complete the nine-month leadership program offered by the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Hood College. The LFC program is open to professionals residing or working in Frederick County with a keen interest in exploring the industry, history, leadership and future developments of their community. The program includes two distinct components. The first involves in-depth, experiential learning on different aspects of county leadership, such as agriculture, education, government, economic development and public safety, designed by distinguished county leaders and culminating with a Leaders on Loan project, where learners work in a small group to support a non-profit organization in the county. The second is a leadership curriculum offered by organizational leadership experts from Hood College, which includes graduate-level masterclasses on leadership skills, such as mindfulness, influence, collaboration, emotional intelligence and creativity, culminating with an individual project to present a “Leadership for Service” vision to serve the community.
