  Collecting data is one facet of sound data on campus. Equally important, however, is knowing how to analyze the data we have and have generated. Further, knowing what level of sophistication in analysis can help make sure we are maximizing our use of time and resources.

  Separate from gathering standard data, sound assessment practices require working with faculty to understand how to assess, making it easy for data to be reported, and providing data back that can improve their personal pedagogy, program effectiveness, and student success. Further, we must relay the message that assessment means more than regional or disciplinary accreditation.
